  • Yeszen gives pride and honor to the B’laan tribe

One of the Department of Health (DOH) scholars has melted the hearts of netizens during his graduation ceremony. He is Angelo Yezsen, a pureblooded B’laan, an indigenous tribe from Southern Mindanao.

A Facebook user, Micheal Bonjovie Tunggal, shared the heart-warming photos of Angelo Yezsen during his graduation day. In his caption, he remembers how Yezsen told him the reason why he cried together with his grandmother on stage.

Kahit anong pagsubok ‘yong dumating, nilabanan mo.

Yezsen graduated as a midwife at  the St. Alexius College. Michael is so proud of him and so is his family.

Isa ka rason (kung bakit) hindi basta-basta ang mga B’laan,” he said

On Yezsen Facebook account, he used as profile picture the photo where he was hugging her grandmother on stage and wrote a message on how his Lola had supported him to achieve his goals.

“I love you so much, Lola. Since my high school days you’re always there to strengthen me and give your full support for me, how I wish that God will give you more life to live in this world until I pay back everything that you’ve done for me,” he wrote.

Many were inspired by his dedication and perseverance to finish his studies. Most importantly, his humility to represent his tribe was such an honor.

Netizens sent their congratulatory messages as being their inspiration/affirmation.

” Yes! Be very proud of your accomplishment in life and especially where we came from… The B’laan Tribe ! Loving people, peaceful, industrious, and have a very strong faith and belief systems in God… More power to you… 😇🙏👍❤️”

” Proud, honor and dignified to represent B’LAAN 💕”

” I salute you.
