A young boy accidentally run over a chicken, rushed to the hospital with all his money

A young boy from Siarang, Mizoram just went viral over the internet because of the kindness he showed over a dead chicken. His innocence and empathy captured the netizens hearts when a Facebook user, Sanga Says, shared the picture of the boy holding the chicken in one hand and with the other hand is holding a ten-rupee in the hospital asking for help.

Sanga Says captioned it with: “As per reports: This young boy from Sairang, Mizoram, accidentally ran over his neighbor’s chicken with his cycle. He took the chicken, ran to the nearest hospital and with all the money he had, asked for help.
(I’m laughing and crying all at the same time)”

In the interview with NDTV, the 6- year-old boy’s name is Derek C. Lalchhanhima of Sairang. Sanga said that Derek’s father was the one who told him the story of the accident and shared the picture with him.

According to Sanga, Derek’s father had mentioned that the boy came home while holding the neighbor’s chick that he accidentally run over with his bicycle and got killed. And he didn’t know that the chick was already dead, as he begged his parents to take it to the hospital. But the father said that he should go by himself.

So with all the money he had, Derek went to the nearest hospital and begged to help the chick he was holding. With the young boy’s innocence and humility, the hospital nurse clicked a photo of the young boy and shared it online.

Derek was sobbing when he came back to the hospital and asks for more money with a hundred rupee. But now, his parents finally explained that the chick was dead and they cannot do anything.

His act of kindness spread, as the news reached the school where he studied. His school decided to honor him and they give Derek a certificate of recognition and a shawl draped on his school uniform.
