Some of the LGBTQ+ members were still hiding their relationships to a guy in public. Either they were afraid that they might be judged by other people or they might not be ready to tell everyone about their relationship.
But one of the Miss Gay contestants of Calapandayan in Subic has been supported by his boyfriend during her talent presentation.
A Facebook user named Reighn Lupague posted a photo and a video clip of a contestant named Jerry May Parcon, who called out his boyfriend on stage to show support during her talent presentation in the competition.
In an interview with Lupague via Messenger, who had witnessed the competition, the talent she showcased was singing while doing a drawing and it was very heart-touching.
Lupague said that she started her talent show by telling a story about her number one fan. Unfortunately, her number one fan died as she felt so sad for what happened.
She even asked God “Why” and then she revealed the drawing. She drew a portrait of Superman who looks like her father; her father was her number one fan.
Parcon hopes and prays to the Lord that someday she would meet a guy who looks like her father and luckily, she did.
Suddenly, she called her boyfriend to join her on stage and most have noticed that her boyfriend really looks like the portrait she made earlier. Then they kissed and proudly shared the love they have for each other.
Lupague had captioned his post “Get a guy na susuportahan ka sa contest mo and even sasamahan ka pa during the talent. Di ko kinaya to. Sayang di nacapture yung kiss 😍”
At the end the competition, Jerry Mae Parcon brings home the crown of Miss Gay Calapandayan 2019.
Indeed, love does not choose who you choose to be with; the importance of having a relationship is acceptance of being who you are.
