Filipina gamers use ‘sando gaming’ to increase their fanbase

  • “Sando Gaming” just means gamers who wear “sando” while playing games
  • Sando gamers are mostly female who would stream video of themselves playing games while displaying their cleavage
  • The intentional exposure of cleavage is the real main attraction of the video stream

Online gaming or streaming is popular nowadays, especially with games like Dota and Mobile Legends. And in order to drive more people to their streams, some gamers have resorted to “sando gaming.”

A sando is a sleeveless undershirt that is very popular in Southeast Asian countries. Some female gamers have resorted to sando gaming to grow their fanbases, offering an ample view of their bosoms as a come on.

Before playing the actual game, these streamers provide “fan service” by jiggling their “assets” in front of the camera. These gamers also encourage their viewers to share their stream with different communities and Facebook groups for a reward.

Sando gamers usually play “Freemium” games or free Mobile and PC Games like Rules of Survival, Mobile Legenda, Dota 2, League of Legends. These are the most popular game titles in the Philippines.

Some of these female streamers are actually skilled enough to play the game, but their skills are truthfully not the main attraction of the stream.

Several groups, however, condemned the practice for contributing to sexism in video gaming.
