Netizen strikes back at Jimmy Bondoc for rants against ABS-CBN

  • A netizen questions Jimmy Bondoc for not reacting to Duterte harassing women openly
  • The netizen wanted to point out that before he was appointed to a government position, Bondoc was one of the ABS-CBN artists who followed orders from the heads of the network

After Jimmy Bondoc posted on his Facebook account about his excitement for “biggest network” closing down, celebrities and the public alike have reacted to his rant.

Bondoc had been referring to ABS-CBN whose franchise license is still up for renewal and will expire in 2020. He claimed that there were instances of fraud, sexual harassment, and politicking during his time there as an artist.

One netizen took Bondoc to task for what he denied was schadenfreude.

Though she admits that there are a lot of times she was irritated with  ABS-CBN network, she questioned Bondoc for not reacting to President Rodrigo Duterte harassing women openly.

Duterte has made inappropriate comments about women on several occasions, including rape jokes. “As long as there are many beautiful women, there will be more rape cases,” Duterte said in reaction to Davao’s high number of rape cases.

Bondoc had mentioned that the success of the network was based on politics and sexual favors which made her ask why he kept silent when the government was being corrupt.

In 2016, Bondoc was appointed by the president as the Assitant Vice President for Entertainment for PAGCOR, during which time his music career seemed to become stagnant.

The netizen wanted to point out that before he was appointed to a government position, he was one of the ABS-CBN artists who followed orders from the heads of the network.

Bondoc’s rant has fired up the network’s supporters, Kapamilya celebrities and even the rival channel’s personalities who also posted their reactions on social media.
