- One guy decided to use soft drinks to flush his toilet
- Netizens find it hilarious
The Metro Manila water crisis started in early March of this year and is unfortunately still ongoing. On March 6, an estimated 10,000 households began to have water shortages. Now the number has significantly increased to over 52,000 families.
Manila Water blames delayed projects concerning water distribution along with the issues regarding Kaliwa and La Mesa Dam for the shortage.
The water shortage has become so bad that people on social media have posted photos of themselves bathing using bottled water.
One guy took it a step further.
Carlos Delos Santos posted a video of his friend pouring some lemon flavored soft drink into a bucket.
The video was taken in Bulacan, which is one of the areas affected by the water crisis.
According to Delos Santos, there had been no water in their area of San Jose Del Monte for three days already.
His friend, Orlando, is shown opening more than 10 bottles of lemon soda which he poured into the bucket. The reason? for this is that they do not have enough water to flush down their toilet.
“Langya kayong manila water kayo nagbibigay kayo schedule ng tubig wala padin! Tatlong araw na kami walang tubig! Buti nalang may lemon. Pambuhos ng toilet.”, The caption says.
Netizens found the video to be funny.
“Furified water na lang mas mura pa kung wala! Yon 1.5 na lang na softdrink”.
“Madiskarte talaga ang pilipino!😁”
“Ayos orlie baka naman langgamin kayo jan”
“Loko loko hahaha sikat na si kuya hehe”
“Sayang. Swap tayo isang galon ko ng tubig sa soft drinks. Hahaha. Para softdrinks na din pambuhos namin sa inidoro. Nakakasawa yung tubig lagi eh. Hahaha”
