A study was conducted to find out if it is true that one reason girls agree to have a date with a guy was because of the free food.
The term “foodie call” is used to describe dates wherein one party is just interested in getting a free meal rather than actually getting to know the person.
Based on a study of Azusa Pacific University in California, out of 820 women, 25 % said that they were active as foodie calls. In their second survey with 357 women, 33% said that they doing the foodie call.
Both results of the study were published in the Society for Personality and Social Psychology (SPSP).
The researchers also find out that those women who are active in foodie call also got the high score in “dark triad” personality traits.
“Several dark traits have been linked to deceptive and exploitative behavior in romantic relationships, such as one-night stands, faking an orgasm, or sending unsolicited sexual pictures,” says Brian Collisson, one of the researchers.
The researcher also noted that even if the study focused on women, it is also possible that it could also happen to other relationship in all genders.
