Gay hair salon tycoon Ricky Reyes surprised netizens on September 10 with his remarks on the SOGIE (Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity and Expression Equality) Bill which remains pending in the Senate.
The said bill was sponsored by Senator Risa Hontiveros, which prohibits all forms of discrimination and violence against people based on their sexual expression or identity.
One of its provisions includes prohibiting businesses from denying Filipinos access to their facilities (such as toilets), utilities, or services on the basis of their gender identity.
It is not the first time that Reyes has figured in a controversy, In April 2014, Reyes was involved in an issue regarding illegal dismissal and non-payment of monetary benefits at the National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC). This was when he allegedly fired an employee who had HIV.
Some netizens admired his insight while some disagreed.
Share ko lang that Ricky Reyes fired his employee after finding out he had HIV. No payment of lawful wages. Reyes also failed to pay for the employees PhilHealth and SSS for 11 years.
The employee filed and won the case.

I think ang unfair ng statement ni Ricky Reyes as she is speaking from a position of privilege.
She’s recognized and ‘accepted’ kasi mayaman siya. Just accepting what she’s saying is, basically, erasing what others are experiencing.

Ricky Reyes, your views are obsolete. Just like your hairstyles. Please go away.

Ricky Reyes lost in a discrimation case filed by his employee because he got cut off from work for being PLHIV. So now wonder he's fcking scared of SOGIE Bill dahil siya unang unang makukulong under this new law.
He's rich and privileged kaya walang pake yan sa kapwa niya bakla.
