- A security guard did not allow two transgenders to use the female comfort room.
- The transgenders got angry and started shouting some vulgar words at the guard
A video post of Facebook page Philippine Expose went viral on social media.
In the video, a security guard of a gasoline station did not allow some transgenders to use the female comfort room.
The security guard called the attention of the transgenders, saying they could not use the female toilet. The two transgenders got angry and started shouting some vulgar words at the guard.
The situation grew worse when the transgender threatened the security guard saying:
“Hindi mo ako kilala g*go! Tingnan natin ang tapang mo!”
The actual video was uploaded by Macky Padilla Onrubia and it has garnered more than four thousand reactions and 499 thousand views on the said Facebook page.
This kind of situation is happening also in other different places in the country. Some people can accept their gender identity but there are also who still resist accepting these changes.
This is why the Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity and Expression Equality Bill (SOGIE), also known as the Anti-Discrimination Bill (ADB) has been proposed in Congress. The bill aims to give the LGBTQ community the right to express themselves freely without being discriminated against. It has been the longest-running bill in the senate interpellation period in Philippine history.
