- K-pop group inspired Filipino dancers to do a cover dance of their songs
- Netizens admired their all-out performance
- NIZ*ONE felt overwhelming because of the positive feedback from netizens
A netizen with a Twitter username @shoujoem posted a video of a group dancing “Fancy” by Korean girl group Twice.
He was so fascinated by how the group performed.
The video went viral on social media with 47.7 thousand views and had reached one of the members of the group named Patrick Nieto who said that their group’s name is NIZ*ONE.
The group consists of Gian Ramilo, Greg Aga, Karlo Angeles, Kent Recta, Nikkie Beltran, Nico Resurreccion, Peter Mallorca, Prince Ibañez, Ralph Ramirez, Vin Latagan, and Patrick. They do dance covers of different K-pop groups. Their performance in the viral video was taken at the College of St. Benilde.

In an interview with the Dailypedia, Nieto said that the group was actually a collaboration of other groups who also do dance covers. Then they decided to merge to cover a K-pop girl group named IZ*ONE way back in 2018. From then on, they started competing at different K-pop events and they even won as champions.
When their video went viral, they felt overwhelmed because of the feedback that they received from netizens. The group manages to have their practice during weekends, where the majority of the members have no class and work.
Originally they covered IZ*ONE but now since they already do other K-pop groups’ dance covers, their new group name is NIZ*ONE.
At the end of the interview, Nieto revealed their secret to having a strong relationship as a group.
“Open-mindedness and being respectful to each other’s opinions made our relationship strongest as ever. Not just as a dance troupe, but our 2nd family. We treat each other as siblings from different parents. We also don’t think that every stage is a competition, hence we enjoy our performance as how people enjoy watching us. So, it makes us one on stage and I think that matters most.”
