A video showing a woman giving free unlimited rice outside a mall in Kidapawan City, North Cotabato recently went viral as it provided a lot of joy to viewers.
The video was posted by Leonard Nepomuceno on his Facebook last Sunday, December 15.
In the clip, the woman can be seen asking and giving scoops of rice to some people outside.
In an interview with DailyPedia, Leonard said the woman is a branch manager of Mang Inasal restaurant in Gaisano Grand mall in Kidapawan City.
Leonard said he is also an employee of the restaurant.
He narrated that his manager, Chessa Siangco, decided to go out and give away free rice after their customers rushed out of the mall because of the 6.9-magnitude earthquake that hit Mindanao on Sunday afternoon.
The 21-year-old employee said some of their customers unconsciously carried their respective plates when they went out of the mall.
Since they cannot go back immediately inside the restaurant due to damage assessment and inspection of the mall, he said they had no choice but to give customers their scoops of rice even while outside the establishment because they asked for it.
“Namigay siya (Chessa) ng rice kasi may mga customers kasi na nag-dala ng plato nila sa labas at kinulang po (sa rice),” Leonard said.
“So ayun nag-decide si ma’am na ipakuha yung ‘unli rice’ bucket at bigyan yung nanghihingi ng extra rice po sa labas,” he added.
Mang Inasal is well known for its unlimited rice, which a lot of Filipinos are fans of.
Leonard’s video has already garnered thousands of views.
Over 28,000 netizens have reacted to it and it has been shared more than 42,000 times. Some even commended the manager.
