One of the most heartbreaking stories of losing a loved one went viral on social media recently.
The devastating story that left so many completely shaken was shared by a heartbroken woman named Erika Jose Estrada Oliveros.
In her Facebook post with multiple photos and videos uploaded, Erika narrated a sad story about the untimely death of her love, Levi Adrian Rodrigo.
Erika, a nurse, started by telling everyone that she and Adrian have been together for more than five years.
She said they were happy until their trip to Siargao Island in November last year.
Erika described the island as “a lovely place but enchanted.”
“We are both in love with blue waters. So this vacation was supposedly be magical,” she said.
“It wasn’t our first time in Siargao. But he loved it so much (this time) that he would not stop talking about it until we got home,” she added.
While in Siargao, Erika said they went to Sohoton – a place with caves and lagoons.
She said the tour guide told them that the place was enchanted, with spirits singing and making weird sounds that people hear during All Souls’ Day.
Almost a month after their trip to Siargao, Erika said she was baptized as a Seventh-Day Adventist Christian with Adrian taking a video of her baptism.
She said she remembered one of the church elders telling her that she should be careful as her faith will be tested by the Lord after she was baptized.
Erika said Adrian was the happiest person at that time as he was among those who constantly encouraged her to go back to the Church.
“I believe that he is an angel sent by God to fulfill a mission,” she noted.
But before the day ended, Erika said Adrian suddenly had a fever, which she suspected to be dengue.
She then told him to go to the hospital where she was working so he could be treated.
Erika shared a video wherein she can be seen injecting a needle to Adrian’s vein.
“He wanted to document this since it’s his first time and desire for his girlfriend to do his IV (intravenous) cannulation,” she narrated.
“I am so worried this time, but he still makes fun out of it. In my whole Nursing career, I always pray to the Lord that I will save people’s lives but please don’t let me do it to my family and loved ones,” she added.
Right after he was moved into his room, Erika said Adrian suddenly had seizures and collapsed.
Since she was the only senior nurse on the floor, she immediately tried to resuscitate him while shouting for help.
When her co-workers arrived, Erika said she just wanted to go out of the room and leave as she cannot stand seeing him like this, but she composed herself and stayed.
“We resuscitated him for 2 hours! Yes, he was dead for 2 hours. They gave up but I insisted to continue it. He then had positive but weak heart pulsations,” she said.
“He opened his eyes and tears were falling from his eyes. I promised him not to pursue my job offer abroad if he will live, no matter what consequences are,” she added.
She said Adrian was then transferred to the intensive care unit (ICU) room with life support devices.
After 24 hours, Erika said she got sick and was admitted to the hospital.
She said doctors suspected that she got the same unknown virus that Adrian had.
Erika said she sometimes sneaked out of her room to go the ICU and take care of Adrian.
While Erika’s health eventually improved, Adrian died on December 16, 2018 with the doctors concluding that he suffered from “viral encephalitis/viral myocarditis.”
Prior to his death, Erika said they also consulted some faith healers, who all said that Adrian’s soul “was wandering in an Island, trapped in a cave, with blue waters and green surroundings.”
“I don’t what to believe but one thing is for sure in my heart, he was the angel sent to me by our Lord to complete his mission of leading me back to FAITH,” Erika noted.
Posting a picture of Adrian’s casket, Eirika said: “This angel right here, just owned a crown in heaven! His mission on Earth is done and it’s time for him to go back to the Father and tell, ‘Hey God, I did it!’ I love you and thank you.”
She went on: “Because of you, I learned to unlove the worldly things on Earth and value more on things that really matter, LIVING OUR LIFE WITH JESUS CHRIST.”
“He promised to give us Eternal life and we shall see each other in the Resurrection Morning. I can’t wait for that day! Hug you and thank you once again for being my angel on Earth,” she added.
In ending her post, Erika posted another video wherein she can be seen writing Adrian’s name on the snow.
“We used to dream to play in the snow. But hey man Levi Adrian Rodrigo I know you’re there with me,” she wrote as a caption to the video.
“It’s been a year ago, the trauma is still fresh but life must go on. It’s about time to let things go and HEAL. Thank you and you are dearly missed,” she concluded.
Erika’s post has garnered more than 59,000 reactions.
It has also been shared over 76,000 times and gathered over a hundred comments, sending her messages of love and encouragement.
