Bela Padilla was praised by netizens for doing something special for the poor citizens of the country. The Metro Manila ‘community quarantine’ has affected many people, especially those who live below the poverty line.
Bela decided to create a Go Get Funding account where people can donate money for the poor. Bela is worried how the “taho, sampaguita, chips and basahan vendors we see on EDSA who probably sold close to nothing today” will survive the situation, knowing that they don’t make a lot.
Bela is looking to raise up to ₱1,000,000, and things are doing well as the amount is now at ₱502,834.
In a recent tweet, Bela is guaranteeing that the 16 cities affected will get their fair share from the donations.

Bela Padilla isn’t the only one putting in the effort to help the Filipino people. Angel Locsin went to social media to express her thoughts on the current situation. In an Instagram post, Locsin shared photos of everyday workers and commuters affected by the community quarantine. The photos show heavy traffic due to quarantine checkpoints. The advice to observe social distancing seems impossible as all motorists in the photos are seen to be very close to each other. Buses were filled with people who barely have enough space to move around. The congestion inside these vehicles might prove to be a problem.
In the caption of the post, Locsin showed sympathy towards those who have to work to feed their families.
Locsin acknowledged the fact that there are those who work but have no guarantee that they will be making profits in their everyday activities.
Locsin is advocating for the government to do some kind of funding for these people. Additionally, she thinks that all kinds of debts should be temporarily frozen.
Philhealth already stated that testing for the virus will be completely free. Locsin says that the agency should also “shoulder treatment for those who have CoVid19.”
Locsin did not forget to thank those who are doing their jobs to prevent the spread of the virus in the country.
Kaya natin ‘to.”
Pokwang decided to help out too. In one of her recent Instagram posts, she showed everyone how she was making tuna sandwiches for police located in checkpoints.
In her next post, she urges people to stay at home as much as possible.
Pokwang believes that prayer will definitely help.
In her most recent post, Pokwang shared how she really went to checkpoints and handed out sandwiches to soldiers and to the police.
Neri Miranda went on Instragram to show everyone how she helped out her staff. She posted a photo of her staff smiling with the food allowances given to them by the actress.
Neri decided to close all her stores to protect her staff from the deadly virus.
Neri hopes that other businesses will understand the situation, What’s important is the lives of the people.
The COVID-19 has taken more than 5,000 lives worldwide, with 12 victims in the Philippines.
