- She said that people should respect Daniel and Kathryn, not just as artists, but as Filipinos.
Television host Karla Estrada didn’t hold back when she posted a message of support towards Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla’s statements in support of ABS-CBN Corporation.
“Sila ang dalawa sa pinakakamamahal kong tao sa buong mundo. Bilang momshie nila gagawin ko ang lahat para protektahan sila. Siguraduhing maging masaya sila at magkaroon ng magandang kinabukasan,” she wrote.
Estrada added that she feels like KathNiel deserve it because they have been working really hard for the past years just to make people happy.
Supporters of the Duterte administration have been bashing artists who have been speaking up about the forced shutdown of the Kapamilya network.
With that, Padilla’s mom asked everyone to respect the duo’s right to have an opinion.
“At kung may gusto po silang sabihin tungkol sa nangyayari sa ating lipunan, respetuhin po natin sila. Kahit hindi na bilang mga artista kundi bilang kapwa natin Pilipino.”
The couple has been known to be silent when it comes to political issues because the last time they have been linked to politics, which was an endorsement of Mar Roxas’s presidential campaign, they met with numerous hate messages.
“Kasi noong huling beses po na ginamit ko ang ‘yong platform ko sa usaping politika, hindi naging maganda ‘yong nangyari,” Bernardo said.
Bernardo even quoted her line from one of her movies as a comparison to the cease and desist order to ABS-CBN.
“Ang choice, para lang sa may pera.”
On the other hand, Daniel Padilla stated that there is nothing wrong if someone is willing to fight for what they believe in. He also thanked the people who showed support for ABS-CBN amid franchise renewal issues.
