The Senate Resolution No. 395 which seeks to reverse the National Telecommunications Commission’s (NTC) cease and desist order against ABS-CBN and its affiliates was finally passed on Monday.
The resolution reiterates the Senate’s position wanting ABS-CBN to continue operations while its franchise is pending in congress.
However, 9 senators, including Pia Cayetano and Senate President Tito Sotto abstained from voting.
Cayetano sponsored the resolution but surprised everyone when she withdrew her signature.
Aside from the 9 who abstained, three had ‘no comment’.
Grace Poe tweeted on May 8 saying, “The Filipino people want to see the network back on air. To see is to believe.”

As Senate President Sotto vowed, the Senate will not waste a moment once the bill reaches the Chamber, as this matter is imbued with public interest.

Netizens slammed her for not delivering on her promise.
Someone give Grace Poe a cushion, her ass must hurt from ~7 years of fence-sitting. https://t.co/iWIIwyoN9z

One netizen says Poe is an ingrate since ABS-CBN supported her in the past.
I hope ABS-CBN remembers that Grace Poe, a candidate they obviously supported in her past two elections, is not deserving of any grace from them. https://t.co/5gBw3SPUs3

Grace Poe was the Chair of the Senate Hearing our executives attended last February. All facts were presented to her, verified by BIR, DOLE, NTC in the same room. No comment si atemogirl.

After tweeting “Freedom of expression is sacrosanct and is what keeps democracy alive and thriving. It is a right that every government must respect and never obstruct,” Dick Gordon had no comment as well.
