With many stranded in Metro Manila and unable to go home due to the lockdown, some have taken to sleeping at the airport in a desperate attempt to get a plane ride back.
Department of Interior and Local Government Sec. Eduardo Año seemed unsympathetic to their plight and told them to stay at home because they are just adding to the problem.
GMA anchor Atom Araullo reacted to Año’s statement by asking: “Paano kung wala nang matuluyan?” [What if they have no place to stay?]

Araullo also said that abrupt flight announcements and repeated cancellation of other flights are also the problem.

[This also adds up to the problem: Sometimes, the announcement for opening a flight is abrupt. Other flights are also canceled repeatedly. It is not easy to commute back-and-forth the airport nowadays. Maybe we can factor in those issues]
Recently, it was reported that more than 100 OFW applicants who were waiting for a flight back to their provinces spent their night outside the departure gate of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 2.
