‘It’s Showtime!‘ host and comedian Vice Ganda appealed to Congressmen to hear the outcry of ABS-CBN employees that are bound to lose jobs if the network shutdown continues.
On Twitter, Vice expressed his sympathy to all ABS-CBN workers and shared a clip containing the statement of ABS-CBN Union President Jon Villanueva during a congress hearing on Monday.

During the congressional hearing, Villanueva was asked about the status of the employees of ABS-CBN.
“Mababa po ang morale ng mga manggagawa” he replied.
[The workers are in low morale now]
“Marami pong nagpadala ng mensahe sa akin na maski hindi miyembro, talaga pong hindi sila makatulog, lalo na po’t palapit na nang palapit yung taning na puwedeng magkaroon ng retrenchment sa ABS-CBN,” he added.
[Many have sent me messages, that even though they are not members, they cannot sleep, especially that the limit for ABS-CBN’s retrenchment is coming]
He also said that even though they were given a three months grace period by ABS-CBN, they can’t still help but bother and worry about the foreseen loss of employment if ABS-CBN continues to be off-broadcast.
Moreover, Vice Ganda also asks for support from Kapamilya supporters.
“Kailangan namin ang suporta ninyo mga Kapamilya. Wag nating hayaang magdusa ang mga pamilya ng mga tuluyang mawawalan ng trabaho.” the comedian said.

ABS-CBN Chief Executive Officer Carlo Katigbak was also asked about the status of their employees amidst the situation.
“Hirap na hirap ang mga empleyado namin. Unang una sa panahon ng pandemya, mahirap po maghanap ng panibagong trabaho,” Katigbak said.
[Our employees are suffering, first of all at this time of the pandemic, it is hard to seek for a new job]
“If you are retrenched and laid off, you will have to deal with fear and uncertainty of not knowing how you will continue to provide for your family,” he added.
Vice Ganda has been vocal about his opinions regarding the ABS-CBN franchise renewal.
The host previously expressed gratitude to the congressmen who are in support of ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal.
Vice also reacted when Rep. Rodante Marcoleta attacked him because of an old joke about Quiboloy.
