Broadcast Journalist Bernadette Sembrano expressed her disappointment regarding the Congress’ decision to deny ABS-CBN Broadcast Corporation another 25-year franchise.
Sembrano has been updating her followers with her sentiments ever since the company was forced to shut down on May 5 as their franchise has expired the day before.
“Please include ABS-CBN sa dasal ninyo,” she tweeted.

But as the hearings went on, the future of the media giant became more and more uncertain. Sembrano then tweeted a quote from Rappler’s CEO Maria Ressa.

She then retweeted sentiments from her colleagues like news anchor Karen Davila.

Sembrano then encouraged everyone to pray for the Congress’ decision whether to approve or deny ABS-CBN’s renewal.

As the unthinkable happened, she advised everyone to “be clever like snakes and innocent like doves” as she promised to continue serving Filipinos.

The broadcaster then thanked everyone for their support and stated that the country needs a “new breed” of leaders who can handle criticisms and believes in the improvement of society.

Originally from IBC and GMA Network, Sembrano jumped ship to ABS-CBN in 2004 and hosted the public service show Lukso ng Dugo, an OFW show Nagmamahal, Kapamilya, and became a part of the morning show Magandang Umaga, Pilipinas.
Through the course of her career, she became the co-anchor on TV Patrol and a newscaster on DZMM. She has remained one of the more visible personalities of the ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs.
