- It was after Roque said that the public should “move on” from the Congress’ denial of ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal application.
- Alan Peter Cayetano then posted about how the “death” of the network ended the privilege for a specific family.
Enchong Dee called out Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque after the latter told the public to “move-on” from the Congress’ decision to deny ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal.
On July 13, Roque made the remark after he was asked about how the network could’ve helped the Department of Education with their plans to resume classes amid the COVID-19 situation.
“Well, maski po tayo manghinayang e tapos na po ang boksing. At dumaan na po sa proseso sang ayon sa Saligang batas, wala na po tayong magagawa. Let’s move on,” he said.
The Kapamilya star then criticized Roque’s statement by dropping him a mention on Twitter.
“You disgust me. Alam ko makikita mo tong tweet na to because you follow me. Sayang ka,” Dee wrote.

The Kapamilya star also posted on Instagram, saying that he has been fighting for the country since he was a teenager and will do the same for the company he called home for 15 years.
“Hindi ako titigil sa pananalita laban sa kasamaan na pumapaligid satin. Being bashed is a small price to pay to be in the right side of history. Sa mga kasamahan ko sa ABSCBN, kasama nyo ko hanggang muling magbukas ang tahanan natin.”
He also encouraged his fellow artists to not stay silent and be trie to the word “Kapamilya.”

On the other hand, House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano posted a lengthy statement on his Facebook account saying that the death of ABS-CBN is “an end to the privilege of one family.”
Netizens then called him out by pointing out the times that the Cayetano family has benefited from ABS-CBN.
The network was the one that gave the late Senator Rene Cayetano, the lawmaker’s father, the segment that gave him an advantage over other politicians as it paved the way for his media popularity.
The show then gave birth to the talk show Companero y Companera which became a larger springboard for the Cayetano clan into the world of politics.
