- He also said that he has no interest in purchasing the Kapamilya network.
- Marcoleta earlier said that the government is willing to give the frequencies to those who are “more deserving.”
On June 15, Dennis Uy’s company Udenna Corporation denied rumors circulating about their interest in acquiring ABS-CBN Broadcast Corporation’s frequencies which they said were “unfounded and completely false.”
Udenna group spokesperson Raymond Zorilla said that the company’s priorities do not include that of broadcasting.
“It has come to our attention that there have been certain speculations going around on social media saying that the Udenna Group is associated with a reported broadcasting entity interested in acquiring the broadcast frequencies left behind by ABS-CBN. These are unfounded and completely false,” he stated.
The Kapamilya network’s television, AM, and FM operations were shut down after the House Committee on Legislative Franchises voted to reject its application for a fresh 25-year franchise.
Davao-based businessman Dennis Uy is a known supporter of President Rodrigo Duterte. He also stated earlier that he had no interest in buying ABS-CBN.
Meanwhile, SAGIP Partylist Representative Rodante Marcoleta stated that the government is willing to give the vacated ABS-CBN frequencies to a more deserving media network aspirant.
However, he claims that the old frequencies of the network might not be available for application until the next Presidential elections, which is in 2022.
“Paano kung may binigyan na ang gobyerno? Anong franchise pa ang ibibigay mo sa kanya?” Marcoleta said.
