The Canapi family of Santa Rosa City, Laguna garnered praise from netizens after they took in a needy man who was just recently evicted by the landlord of the house he was renting.
Mark Kenneth Canapi revealed that a man named Rey Avila lost his job as a security guard at a fast-food chain due to the pandemic and that he is classified under Person Under Investigation (PUI) who is also a recent victim of a hit-and-run incident.
Before getting lucky, Avila was all over social media asking for plywood so he could build himself a shelter.
The Canapi family decided to offer him their vacant house instead of giving him the needed materials.
Avila was on the brink of homelessness while having no stream of income.

“Hindi po talaga namin iyon kilala ni Mama. Naawa lang talaga si Mama kasi marami na rin pong nangyari sa kanya, Tapos nagkataon po na bakante iyong isang bahay. Ayun, pinatira niya muna doon si Sir Avila pansamantala hangga’t wala pa siyang trabaho,” Canapi said.
The family will also pay for his bills and give him food until he decides to leave.
