Sofia Andres and Daniel Miranda have been through a lot, coming under public scrutiny after it was revealed they already had a daughter. But even after everything, the two proved that their relationship is stronger than ever.
In an interview with Star Magic Face-Off with Robi Domingo, the two talked about how they started dating and their other firsts in life.
Daniel stated that they met in The Fort in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. “Mga 2:00 to 3:00 AM na ‘yon. I saw Sofia there. Sinabi ko, ‘Maganda ‘to ah.’ Out of all the girls s’ya lang ‘yong maganda dun,” he said.
The professional race car driver made a promise to himself that night that he will talk to Sofia before he and his cousin left the venue.
“I was with my cousin. Tapos sinabi ko… I really told myself, you know, ‘Before this night ends I have to talk to her.’ Ayon, before that night ended I talked to her. I got her number. That’s how everything started.”
As for Sofia, she said that Daniel reminded her of the singer Charlie Puth.
“Kasi nu’ng una, may kumalabit sa akin. Sabi niya, ‘I think my cousin finds you so pretty.’ Sabi ko, ‘Ah, okay.’ And then lumapit (si Daniel). Nagpa-picture siya. Tinatanong ko kung anong pangalan niya kasi… Alam mo ‘yon? Party. Malakas ‘yong sounds. Then sabi niya, ‘Daniel.’ Sabi ko, kamukha n’ya si Charlie Puth.”
What about their first date? It turns out that it took a while as Daniel had to fly to the US to spend Christmas with his family.
“So, yung one month ko doon, we just talked through phone and FaceTime. All through the phone. So, when I came back, I went home, I showered and went directly to see her.”
It was also revealed that Sofia was the first one to ask what their “label” was at that point.
“Kasi ang tagal na naming magka-usap pero wala pa ring label. Eh I don’t want to pursue that kind of situation pag walang label. Kasi mga lalaki ngayon, basta lang makipag-usap ng walang label, it’s fine with them. Not everyone. So, sabi ko, ‘Anong plano mo sa buhay? We’re talking na every day. Sinasayang mo ‘yong oras ko. Ano bang gusto mo?”
How about their first kiss? It was during the concert of David Guetta.
“Hindi nga siya party boy, ‘di ba? He’s just there like a stick man. Ako, sayaw-sayaw. Nung nag-off ‘yong lights, bigla kaming nag-usap na. We kissed each other.”
Fast forward to now that they have baby Zoe, Sofia shared that they have no regrets regarding their decision to be young parents.
“Kasi kung anuman yung dumating samin hinarap namin. Kumbaga, we’re ready to experience that lane because we know that we can.”
She then said a short message to Daniel, saying that she loves him because he chose to stay with her.
“Mahal kita kasi hindi mo kami iniwan especially when you knew that I was pregnant.”
Daniel then said that he has never thought of leaving her because he loves her despite all the struggles they’ve been through.
“Kasi people think na parang it’s so easy eh. I received messages na they want to be like us. They think it’s very easy. Me and Sofia have been through a lot. Hindi madali. For Sofia’s side naman, she’s been through a lot din for our relationship. She did a lot for our relationship. And I thank her for that.”
