Netizens steamroll DOT director after introducing Bongbong Marcos as vice president

The PET also said that in Negros Oriental, Iloilo, and Camarines Sur, Robredo’s lead added around 15,000 more votes.

Department of Tourism (DOT) regional director Jeff Ortega was blasted on social media following his introduction of former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr during a DOT event in the Ilocos Region where local officials and tourism stakeholders were also present.

He uploaded on Instagram the launch of Region 1’s tourism branding wherein he referred to Marcos as vice president.

The video was shared last week but has been taken down since.

Netizens were furious at Ortega and had tons of insults hurled at him, as well as Marcos.

The public hasn’t forgotten about the billions that Marcos’ dictator of a father stole from the Filipino people.

The people also know of his protest which didn’t do him any good.

Marcos can only dream of being the vice president.

One netizen called Marcos a “loser,” which is actually true.

Marcos’ election protest against incumbent vice president Leni Robredo is still pending in the Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET).

Marcos ran for the vice presidency in 2016 but lost to Robredo by only a little over 260,000 votes.

Interestingly, Robredo’s lead over Marcos only increased after a manual recount in three different provinces the latter thought he won in.

The Liberal Party (LP) told the PET that dismissal of Marcos’ protest would be the best thing to do because Robredo clearly won.

According to the LP, Robredo had officially won the vice president by exactly 263,474 votes.

“This lead further grew to 278,566 votes with an additional 15,093 votes from a recount that Mr. Marcos himself pushed for. Malinaw na panalo si VP Leni noong 2016. Malinaw na siya rin ang nagwagi sa recount,” Robredo’s party said.

“Wala nang dapat hintayin pa ang Korte Suprema. Wala nang dahilan para pahabain pa ang kasong ito,” it added.

The PET also said that in Negros Oriental, Iloilo, and Camarines Sur, Robredo’s lead added around 15,000 more votes.
