Ogie Diaz shares “bad news” with Liza Soberano’s red taggers

Ogie Diaz shared that because of Parlade’s red-tagging, Liza Soberano now has a new endorsement.

  • He also continuously defended his talent, saying that she’s not a member of Gabriela but merely a guest at their webinar.
  • Parlade also red-tagged Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray and actress Angel Locsin.

Liza Soberano’s talent manager and television personality Ogie Diaz reacted to Lieutenant General Antonio Parlade Jr’s threat against the young star.

As netizens became horrified by Palarde’s statement, Diaz shared “bad news” on his Facebook account. Bad news for Liza’s red-taggers, that is.

“May bad news ako sa mga nagre-red-tag kay Liza Soberano. May new endorsement siya because of her advocacy. Okay lang ba sa inyo?” he wrote.

He also shared the official statement of Soberano’s legal counsel. In the uploaded copy, they stated that they “denounce in the strongest terms” any red-tagging that is made against their client.

“Ms. Soberano remains to be apolitical. She does not support nor antagonize any person’s views. The important point here is respect for others, a virtue she has conscientiously practiced her whole life,” they wrote.

He also explained that Soberano is not a member of Gabriela. She only became a guest at their webinar discussing women’s and children’s rights.

On October 22, Parlade made a statement through the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC)’s official Facebook page targeting Soberano and her advocacy.

“She is merely supporting advocacy for women’s rights. She has to be protected in the exercise of her rights. Is she an NPA? No, of course not. Not yet,” he said.

He then said that if the young star continued to support Gabriela, she would “suffer the same fate” as activist Josephine Anne Lapira who was killed in a clash between government troops and alleged NPA members.

Aside from Soberano, Parlade also warned 2018 Miss Universe Catriona Gray and actress Angel Locsin.
