- Diaz said that Lim only thanked Parlade for his “concern” and added that they also talked about the red-tagging against his client.
- Parlade took back his warning against Soberano and Catriona Gray for supporting women’s rights group Gabriela.
Ogie Diaz addressed the issue surrounding his talent Liza Soberano’s lawyer.
In a quote retweet from a fan who demanded a clarification regarding the situation, Diaz said that it’s true that Atty. Juanito Lim thanked Lt. General Parlade Jr. when they discussed the latter’s red-tagging of Soberano, but that’s not the only thing they talked about.
“Nagpasalamat ang lawyer namin sa ‘concern’ ni GAP ke Liza. Pero diniskas din dito ng lawyer ang concern naman namin sa red-tagging nito ke Liza. Yun po ang totoo,” Diaz wrote.

This was after netizens shared their disappointment over the statement of Atty. Lim, saying that he thanked the general and was “happy” about his statement.
He said that with the consent of Soberano, he personally reached out to Parlade and thanked him for clearing his client’s name.
“I reached out to Gen. Parlade yesterday. I thanked him for clearing the name of our client because I intended to send him a personal letter discussing the issue. It was a good conversation,” he said during an interview with CNN Philippines.
He added that the reason he reached out personally was that he can’t rely on the stories going around online.
“I can’t just rely on the information I read on the internet, so I decided to directly communicate with Lt. Gen. Parlade.”
Netizens continued to encourage Soberano to get a new lawyer as Atty. Lim allegedly failed to recognize what a death threat is.
Others then compared Lim’s statements against the statement of Catriona Gray’s lawyer. The beauty queen was also “warned” by Parlade against supporting Gabriela and other similar organizations.
