ABS-CBN’s president and CEO Carlo Katigbak and Star Magic’s newly appointed head Laurenti Diyogi expressed their gratitude to the talents who decided to continue being a part of the network.
At a media event named Star Magic Shines On, eight artists signed their exclusive contracts with ABS-CBN namely Kim Chiu, Jane de Leon, Enchong Dee, JM de Guzman, Andrea Brillantes, Kira Balinger, Joseph Marco, and Robi Domingo. New talents were also introduced like the ABS-CBN trained new P-Pop groups BINI and Star Hunt Academy Boys.
Katigbak expressed that the network had a rollercoaster-like year but it still survived.
“Ang hirap-hirap po ng taong 2020,” he said.
“But ABS-CBN has always been at its best in its most difficult times. This year is no exception.”
He added that ABS-CBN’s passion when it comes to public service has been their motivation in continuing on and finding new ways to serve the Filipino people.
“Our commitment to serving the public is the foundation of our company. And so, even without everything that we’re used to, we have not stopped finding new ways to be in the service of the Filipino.”
Katigbak also thanked everyone for believing in them.
“Thank you for choosing to be part of our mission. Thank you for believing in our company. And thank you for supporting us in our most difficult moments.”
Diyogi, who is also the head of ABS-CBN’s entertainment production, then welcomed and expressed his gratitude to their newly signed and renewed artists who decided not to leave the network despite the hardships it continues to experience.
“As we welcome new artists to the Star Magic family,” he stated.
“We also want to express our deepest gratitude to the Star Magic artists who chose to stay with us, as we continue to rebuild and explore new opportunities.”
