Good TV (GTV) has officially launched as a replacement to GMA News TV.
Aside from GMA News and Public Affairs, the Network will also air basketball games, rom-coms, lifestyle shows, and well-known anime titles.
GMA executives promised that GTV will surely bring viewers everything they want to see on a Network.
“This is also to addressed the need of the audience for variety because we’ve been noticing that our audience given these times are looking for more content, different content, and new content,” said Atty. Annete Gozon-Valdes, the president of GMA Films, Inc. and Programming consultant to the chairman and CEO.
Other programs include Super Radyo DZBB 594KHZ, Balitanghali, State of the Nation, and 24 Oras.
“News has still a very, very important place in the programming of GTV. We have the simulcast of ’24 Oras’ and on late prime we have State of the Nation with Atom Araullo and Maki Pulido.
“We launched them just this January and the show was doing very well. We do not lack for the news content on the new GTV. No worries,” said Nessa Valdellon, the first vice-president for Public Affairs.
Far-flung areas can also rely on Regional TV Strip and Regional TV Weekend News. And award-winning shows like Brigada, Pinas Sarap, Good News, Pera Paraan, Biyahe ni Drew, IJuander, and Pop Talk will also be featured.
Mikee Quintos and Kelvin Miranda will not be missed by fans as The Lost Recipe will be included in the roster of programs, along with new shows such as My Fantastic Pag-ibig, Game of the Gens, and Farm to Table.
However, fans might have to wait a little longer for Julie Anne San Jose and David Licauco‘s Heartful Café, and Love You Stranger at Flex.
Lifestyle shows In Real Life and Taste Buddies are expected to entertain the audience as well.
“Because we’re adding several new shows pa, the local dramas that are being produced by Public Affairs and by Entertainment, there are a lot of things to look forward to for our audience,” said Gigi Santiago-Lara, senior assistant vice-president for Alternative Productions.
Sports fans will not regret turning their TVs to GTV as the network will be airing NCAA games.
“We’re allocating actually ample air time for a sports block on GTV where we will air various NCAA games and in the future other high-quality sports content. We are open but for now, for Season ’96 we’d like to concentrate on our partnership with the NCAA,” said Oliver Amoroso, first vice- president and head of regional TV and Synergy.
GTV is available on free television, GMA Affordabox, GMA Now, and other digital receivers. The programs mentioned will also be available on international news channels such as GMA Pinoy TV, GMA Life TV, and GMA News TV International.
