Young star Alexa Ilacad received pieces of advice from her ‘Init sa Magdamag’ co-stars regarding how to shoo away bad elements.
In an interview with Star Magic, Ilacad shared that veteran actress Irma Adlawan told her to carry salt at all times whenever she’s visiting places she’s not familiar with. The same goes with actress Carmina Villaroel, telling her to spread salt in her room to keep the bad elements out.
“Sabi sakin ni Ms. Irma Adlawan, siya kasi ‘yung lola namin dun, magdala daw ako ng asin. Tapos sabi ni Tita Mina magkalat daw ako ng asin sa kwarto para pang ward away sa mga spirits.”
Ilacad said that the locations for the teleserye are mostly set in provinces where they take part in lock-in filmings due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She added that she gets a bit scared as the place unfamiliar.
“Natutunan ko na magdala lagi ng asin. Kasi yung sa Init sa Magdamag, medyo province yung set. Di naman sobra. Medyo mataas lang yung lugar. Medyo scary ng slight,” shared Ilacad.
She then admitted that she also carries salt with her even when she sleeps at night as she has a whole room for herself.
Meanwhile, Ilacad also once shared that due to the pandemic, she can’t help but feel exhaustion at times as they had to adjust for the “new normal” set-up.
“I think that’s normal when you get tired, nabu-burnout. Especially with the new normal, the lock-in tapings, my experience is I’m alone. I don’t have a [personal assistant]. So sometimes it can get tiring.”
Because of that, whenever they get to the point where they can go home, she makes sure that she gets all the rest.
