Comedian Ate Gay couldn’t be more grateful to his friends in the show business for helping him financially when he was suffering from multiple illnesses, one of which is It’s Showtime host Vice Ganda whom he had beef with previously.
In an interview with Ogie Diaz, an emotional Ate Gay shared how fellow comedians, including Ogie, did not hesitate to help him with his medical bills earlier this year.
“Thank you so much, talagang tinatanong mo anong nangyari sa akin, anong sakit ko.
Last April, he was confined due to complications related to pneumonia and diabetes.
Ate Gay revealed that he has yet to see Vice since his hospitalization but is just glad that the host got the message about his condition.
He recalled Vice promising him that he’d give assistance.
In 2019, Vice Ganda told the It’s Showtime audience that Ate Gay was removed from the “Tawag ng Tanghalan” singing competition due to his comments on social media. The announcement then caused a rift between the two.
He also admitted wondering whether he’d be the next comedian who would pass away following the deaths of other comedians such as his close friend Le Chazz, Chokoleit, and Kim Idol.
“Lahat yun partner ko, as in partner… lahat sila nawala.
But he doesn’t see it happening anytime soon.
Kung gusto mo lumaban, lalaban ka.” he said.
