All-time great comedienne Marietta Subong, better known as Pokwang, has finally been granted her wish of becoming a Kapuso, and she assures that her loyalty is with the network.
In an interview with multiple several media personnel, Pokwang said she won’t be going anywhere anytime soon as GMA Network is her new home.
“Opo. Hanggat kaya ng katawan ko, hanggat gusto ako ng tao, hanggat maraming naniniwala andito ako,” she said.
She has been wanting to transfer since 2019 but certain circumstances stepped in the way. And now that she’s with the network, working with fellow comedians Ai-Ai delas Alas and Eugene Domingo would be perfect.
“Magkakasama na kami ni miss Ai-ai, miss Uge, Gusto kong iremake yung dating show like yung ‘Sis.’ pero kame naman yung host, ang title naman ay ‘Tits.’ Pwede rin ‘yun,” she said when asked what kinds of projects she’d like to work on aside from action and drama shows.
This is it… thank you po @ArtistCenter @gmanetwork papa God, at sa inyong lahat salamat po sa pagkakataong muling maihatid at maibahagi ko ang aking talento sa inyong lahat na tunay na nagmamahal at sumosuporta 🙏🏼 https://t.co/cas1g4k8VK

Being an artist, mother, and businesswoman, Pokwang has very little free time but she always makes sure she has enough to spend with her daughter Malia.
“Si Malia naman syempre hanggat andito ako, hindi ako pwedeng mawalan ng time parin sakanila kahit papaano. Talagang minakesure ko na at least twice a week meron kaming bonding.”
Her transition was something special, and she couldn’t be more thankful for the support coming from other artists such as John Lapus.
“Sobrang nakakatuwa kasi nagdagadag sila bilang inspirasyon ko na mapatuloy sa journey ko.”
It also seems like Pokwang is aging and doesn’t have a lot left in the tank, but she is more than willing to work regardless of the project.
“Andito lang ako bilang artista. Kung kinakailangan ang serbisyo ko sa isang serbisyo, bakit hindi dba? Hanggat kaya ng katawan ko, hanggat merong proyekto ibibigay sakin at kaya pa, go ng go.
“Love ko rin yung ginagawa ko bilang artista,” she said.
Prior to signing a three-year contract with GMA Artist Center, Pokwang starred in ABS-CBN movies and programs for 15 years.
Her upcoming projects with GMA include appearing in the drama anthology “Wish Ko Lang” and playing a huge role in the comedy show “Pepito Manaloto.”
