Young male star Ken Chan shared who inspired him to work hard during his new series with Rita Daniela and why did he choose to remain single at the moment.
During the online media conference of Ken and Rita’s upcoming teleserye Ang Dalawang Ikaw, Ken was asked by a member of the press if what is stopping him from seeking love or pursuing romantic relationships.
“Wala naman pong pumipigil and as of now, hindi po namin kailangan ng inspirasyong from a special someone para magawa po namin yung mga eksena namin,” said Ken.
He added that the ones that inspire them from giving their all, even in the love scenes, was the thought that they’re lucky to still have worked despite the situation with the pandemic.
Dubbed as RitKen by fans, the two also shared the factors that stayed the same even though Ang Dalawang Ikaw is already their third series together as a love team.
Aside from they both love what they do, Rita mentioned the competitiveness that drove them to match each other’s performance during scenes.
“Kasi tulad ako, honestly, pag nakita kong mukhang sanay si Ken Chan sa part na yun, kaylangan maging mahusay rin ako kasi nakakahiya sa kanya kasi binibigay niya yung 110% niya eh. So nakakahiya yung kung magbibigay lang ako ng 98% di ba? So I guess yun yung nagwowork sa amin,” she admitted.
Ken said that they’ve maintained their deep and meaningful relationship as it is the first time he’s ever experienced such.
“Sa tatlong taon na magkasama kami ni Rita, napanatili namin yung relationship namin na malalim. Kasi mahirap yun eh. Nagkaroon po ako ng mga partners before and hindi ganito yung relationship ko with them na sobrang lalim. Maganda naman yung mga relationship ko sa [kanila], pero dito kay Rita, dito ko naramdaman yung importante ka.”
The two agreed that they’ve matured a lot during the filming of the series as they were given the chance to learn a lot, not just from the story, but from each other as well.
Ang Dalawang Ikaw is set to premiere on June 21, 2021, on GMA Network’s Afternoon Prime line-up.
