Jake Ejercito’s daughter Ellie has taught him a lot about fatherhood and even helped him somehow with his career in the show business.
When asked what he has learned so far in being a father, Jake said that he had to man up for his daughter’s benefit.
“Too many to mention. Naging dad ako at the age of 21. When we had Ellie, no choice ako but to be responsible and to man up for Ellie’s benefit,” Jake told RAWR Nation in an interview.
He said that he has to be a little childish with her whenever they are together and sees no problem with that.
“Kaya niyo nakikita yung mga kulitan namin kasi I realized na being a parent you also have to remember your own childhood para makarelate ka sakanila.”
Ellie, whose real name is Adrianna Gabrielle Eigenmann, really helped Jake become more “alive” as a person. She taught him some TikTok dances back when he was doing a Sunday variety show.
“That is very true, It was Ellie who nagturo sakin ng mga dances.” he said when asked if he feels like his daughter is pushing him to do more as an artist.
“Reserved akong tao, mahiyain talaga ako. Si Ellie medyo bibo siya. Nahawa ako sakanya and whenever she’s with me, I make the most out of it. Sinusulit ko talaga,” he added.
His goal as a father is to spend as much time as he can with his daughter because he missed many of her “milestones” when he was abroad studying.
“Gusto ko maging present in Ellie’s life as much as I can.
“Marami ako na miss out na milestone sa buhay ni Ellie. Kaya nung bumalik na ako, I made it a point na makabawi,” he said.
Ellie’s mother is actress Andi Eigenmann. Jake and Andi split in 2014.
