Kim Atienza couldn’t have asked for a better step forward in his career as a television host when he transitioned from ABS-CBN to the GMA Network.
He now appears on Mars Pa More with Pars Kim Atienza along with Iya Villania and Camille Prats.
In a media conference held on Wednesday, he said becoming a Kapuso was overwhelming, but the timing was perfect.
“I’m just so overwhelmed that God has been so good to me, and the timing was so impeccable, and the transition was so seamless,” he said.
This will be his third project with GMA-7, the first two being 24 Oras and Dapat Alam Mo!, which airs on GTV.
He didn’t expect taping for the morning show to be fun but now wants it to be a little longer.
“When I started taping with Iya and Cam and the whole Mars family, I just realized that the show was fun to do. Nabibitin ako, gusto ko pang mag-taping pa nang mas matagal,” he shared.
Atienza also expected to partner with Drew Arellano but has no problem working with Villania, the latter’s wife.
Villania said that Atienza was a big addition to the show as he could bring different insights.
“This is something that Cam and I never saw coming, but it was such a pleasant surprise. Kasi nga naman, masyado nga tayong maka-Mars, kaya it’s so refreshing to have the opinion of a Pars.
“At saka hindi lang opinyon ng kung sinu-sinong Pars lang. Opinyon ni Kuya Kim na kung anuman ang lumabas sa bibig niya, maniniwala kami,” she said.
Prats agreed, saying that Atienza can make the show more ‘informative’, especially younger viewers.
“Yung Mars Pa More not only wants to cater sa mga nanay out there but also to kids. So, si Kuya Kim is definitely the one who’s gonna be sharing all his trivias.
“Lahat ng kaalaman niya, pasok na pasok na yun para sa mga bagets na nanonood sa amin tuwing umaga.
“At the same time, ang mga Pars, meron nang magtatayo ng bandila nila. Ipaglalaban ni Kuya Kim ang kanilang mga stand,” she said.
Mars Pa More with Pars Kim Atienza will start airing on November 8.
