Manila Mayor Isko Moreno revealed why he doesn’t want any of his family members to join politics.
In a press conference, he said, he alone is enough to make a difference.
He advised his children to finish their studies first before jumping into politics or the show business.
“Ayaw ko silang mag politika, ayaw ko silang mag showbiz hangga’t hindi sila nakatatapos ng pag-aaral,” he said.
He also sees no reason for another Domagoso to be in public service and believes others should have a chance to lead and serve.
“Ayaw ko silang mag politika hangga’t nasa gobyerno ako kasi the Domagoso has no monopoly of knowledge to govern. Tama na muna yung isa and let others be given a chance to take the lead or participate in government,” he shared.
Moreno noted that in his 23 years in politics, none of his family members held office.
“For 23 years, wala sumali sa mga anak ko sa politika kasi hindi ko pinapayagan.
“Same thing with my wife. Basta ang style ko ako lang muna. Kaya sabi ko sa kanila, gusto ninyo public service, make a name for yourself.”
Currently, Moreno tied with fellow presidential aspirant Bongbong Marcos in recent presidential surveys.
The latest survey conducted by the RP-Mission and Development Foundation Inc. (RPMD) suggested that Moreno is just slightly behind Marcos statistically speaking.
