Solid Kapamilyas still remember when Toni Gonzaga stood up for ABS-CBN

People remembered how Gonzaga became one of the biggest voices that spoke out against Congress’ decision to reject the Kapamilya network’s bid for franchise renewal

ABS-CBN supporters were more than happy to see Toni Gonzaga leave as Pinoy Big Brother’s mainstay host after introducing Rep. Rodante Marcoleta at the Marcos-Duterte proclamation rally.

Marcoleta was one of the most persistent fixtures that sought to shut ABS-CBN down, which led to thousands being jobless.

People remembered how Gonzaga became one of the biggest voices against Congress’ decision to reject the Kapamilya network’s bid for franchise renewal.

“Sa lahat ng nasa posisyon ngayon, hindi namin makakalimutan ang ginawa nyo sa mga trabahador ng ABSCBN. You may have the power now but it will not be forever,” she said in an Instagram post two months after the network went off the air.

She prayed for everyone who was affected by the shutdown.

“Lord yakapin mo po lahat ng mga kapamilya namin na nawalan, nasasaktan at nanghihina.”

Gonzaga also said that ABS-CBN would come back eventually with the help of Jesus Christ.

“Troubles come to pass, they don’t stay. Jesus said, when you go through deep waters I will be with you. One day He wipe these tears away and replace it with JOY beyond compare.” she wrote.

Now, the post has been flooded with comments about Gonzaga being a sell-out and a hypocrite.

ABS-CBN Music Head Roxy Liquigan agreed with most of what the people had to say, adding that Marcoleta was one of the reasons why the ABS-CBN family is broken today.

“Yes, personal sa akin ito. Sa aming lahat na taga-ABS-CBN. Nagulo ang buhay namin. Nagka hiwa-hiwalay kaming lahat ng dahil diyan sa Marcoletang ‘yan,” he wrote on Facebook.

He, too, was disappointed with Gonzaga and how she enthusiastically introduced Marcoleta.

“Maraming taga ABS-CBN ang nawalan ng trabaho, mga kapamilya natin, ng dahil diyan kay Mr. Wig. Tapos pa high pitch/high energy ka pa sa introduction mo??? Haaay.

“Ang sad no? Ang sakit ng ginawa niya. Grabe. Sukdulan.” he continued.

Other ABS-CBN employees also went after Gonzaga.

Gonzaga trended on Twitter for all the wrong reasons.

Some have acknowledged that PBB may never be the same without her, but her actions were more than enough for people to want to see her leave. She has been rumored to receive over 2 million dollars for endorsing former senator Bongbong Marcos.
