The Caviteño supporters of Vice President Leni Robredo seek to thwart Gov. Jonvic Remulla’s mission of assuring presidential aspirant Bongbong Marcos 800,000 votes from the province.
Cavite warmly welcomed the leader of the pink nation on Friday. Many were waiting for her arrival at the Carmona Town Plaza. She was more than happy to see the turnout.
#800KMinusOne immediately trended on Twitter, stemming from Remulla’s promise to Marcos. Remulla even assured the Marcos camp that it wouldn’t have to spend much to campaign in the province.

In 2016, Marcos beat Robredo in Cavite by over 150,000 votes, but it appears this time wouldn’t be too much of a landslide. Photos show a venue packed with people wearing pink.

Robredo could possibly win Cavite despite it being a “Marcos country.”

Remulla previously held a presidential poll asking netizens who’d they vote for. Robredo came out on top, prompting him to delete it.

Cavite officials reportedly shut down bridges to make it hard for the Kakampinks to rally, but that didn’t stop them.
May pinasarang tulay sa Cavite. Just in time for the rally bukas. So Leni volunteers would have to take a longer route. Hahahahahahaha. 16% lang naman kami di ba? Ano kinakatakot niyo? We're just having fun sa mga rallies namin, tho. #CaviteIsPink #CaviteForLeni

Some supporters decided to attend the rally instead of going to work.

Frontliners from the Asian Institute of Management also back Robredo’s candidacy for president. Over 700 of them signed a manifesto of support for the Robredo-Pangilinan tandem.
“We are a group that usually stays silent about politics, but we realized that a lot of illnesses and plagues that affect not only personal health but are also rooted in poverty and a lack of education and right information,” the group said.
“Choosing a wrong and fake candidate is like choosing the wrong medicine. And the wrong medicine will not lead to healing. Like a patient, the country cannot heal under the wrong care and carer.” it added.
The group urged Cavite to be smarter in voting.
“Let us not make a mistake, this is the most important battle of our country — the battle for the spirit of all of what our heroes and revolutionaries fought for and the revolutions that we have faced which our province of Cavite was witness to,” they said.
In addition, 250 AIM alumni openly wished that Robredo would win this coming May.
“Leni Robredo is the leader of our times. She personifies values we stand for. She has shown a demonstrated ability to inspire trust and confidence of the private sector as a key development partner,” members of the steering committee of the AIM Alumni for Leni said in a statement.
They also noted her clean track record.
“She has the will, the strength, and the compassion to make it happen. Vote for Leni Robredo. And vote for clean, inclusive, competent governance,” they said.
Robredo and Pangilinan are scheduled to visit Silang, Dasmariñas City, Imus City, Noveleta, Rosario, and Tanza.
