The daughter of Tarlac City Mayor Cristy Angeles took offense to what actress Kris Aquino recently said during the rally of Vice President Leni Robredo on March 23.
Aquino’s appearance was truly a surprise, given that she currently suffers from multiple conditions that have resulted in alerting weight loss. But she couldn’t pass visiting Tarlac because the city is close to her family.
“Para sa akin, ang umapak dito sa Tarlac is worth all the risk dahil kailangan ko pong magpasalamat,” she said.
She thanked the crowd except for one person whose name wasn’t mentioned.
“Hindi niyo kami iniwan. Hindi niyo kami pinabayaan. Well, at least kayo, except for your… you know who. Pasensiya na, ha.”
So the crowd did it for her. Several in the audience shouted, “Wala si Cristy!”
Mayor Angeles previously backed Robredo’s bid for the presidency but recently shifted support to former senator Bongbong Marcos.
Aquino felt that Angeles betrayed the movement and her family.
“Sorry, sinabihan akong huwag makipag-away, pero nabubuwisit po talaga ako.
“I’m sorry na hindi ako yung mabait na Aquino. Ako lang po ang ganito sa pamilya na sasabihin ang totoo.
“Dahil nakakabuwisit talaga yung walang utang na loob.” she said.
Angeles’ daughter, Anvi, decided to go after Aquino on Facebook. She asked the actress what her family owes and to whom.
“Ms. @krisaquino, we would like to know kung ano po ang “utang na loob” ng family namin na binabanggit niyo?” she wrote.
She detailed how her family helped the late former president Noynoy Aquino win the presidency. Anvi also said that former president Cory Aquino personally approached her family to boost her son’s political career.
“Since the beginning, we had high respects for your family. Sa amin pong pagkaka-alam, never did we ask for any help or favor from your family.
“Ilang beses po humingi ng tulong si Ma’am Cory sa family namin since PNoy ran for Congress and Senate.
“And when he ran for president, my mom was tasked to be the provincial convenor under the People Power Volunteers for Reform here in the province of Tarlac.
“Wala po kaming hiningi ng kahit anong tulong o pabor (pinansyal man o trabaho) na kapalit sa pamilya ninyo.
“Ito po ay sa kadahilanang mataas ang aming respeto sa inyong ina,” Anvi furthered.
“But for you to maliciously accuse my mom in public of ‘walang utang na loob’, I cannot let your lies & intrigues malign my mom just for the political mileage of your candidate.
“We owe it to Boss Danding and Cong. Henry Cojuangco when they encouraged my mom to run for Board Member and then city mayor under the NPC.
“Apparently, hindi po niyo alam ang nangyayare dito sa Tarlac City.” she added.
Anvi shared a screenshot of her family’s conversation on Messenger in a separate post. It shows her notifying everyone that she’ll be supporting Robredo.
