The intense downpour of rain did not keep tens of thousands of Kakampinks from waiting for presidentiable and Vice President Leni Robredo’s Arrival at the Rizal Provincial Capitol Grounds in Antipolo.
Showing up in the most difficult times seemed very easy for a presidential candidate and incumbent Vice President Leni Robredo, as she still showed up for the people of Rizal, even though the weather was not exactly cooperating. A few hours before her arrival, the tens of thousand Rizaleños sustained the downpour of rain, just to see their future president talk
In her speech, Robredo acknowledged the bravery of her supporters. “Alam niyo, lahat ng kinamayan ko ngayon…basang basa at anlalamig ng kamay. Sa totoo lang, ako ay nag-aalala sa inyo. Kanina ko pa ipinagdadasal na sana ay hindi kayo magkasakit (All those I shook hands with today, have wet and cold palms because of the rain. To tell you frankly, I am worried. I’ve been praying none of you will catch any illness)” she said.
According to the local organizers, more than 43,000 supporters showed up for Robredo, which makes the grand rally extra-ordinary, despite the bad weather.
“Talaga pong nakakataba ng puso na handa kayong magsakripisyo nang ganito (My heart is full, knowing that you guys are prepared to make sacrifices like this)” she said, as she acknowledged the people of Rizal and the provincial government.
The event was hosted by Ogie Diaz, Pokwang, Jolina Magdangal, Dawn Chang,Cai Cortez, Elijah Canlas, and social media influencers, Pipay, Kerwin King, Renz Saavedra, and Melai Habijan. Like the past grand rallies of the Leni-Kiko tandem, OPM bands and other solo performers kept the people’s energy high throughout the entire event. Popular hugot band, ‘The Juans’ performed their hit single ‘Hatid’ as a closing performance for the event.
Earlier, Gary Valenciano’s son, Gab, showcased his dancing skills as he performed his dad’s ‘Hataw Na’. Callalily’s front-man Kean Cipriano, also graced the event with his band
Other than Robredo, her running mate, Senator and vice-presidentiable, Kiko Pangilinan, and her senate slate, also spoke before the crowd.
