A small group of BBM-Sara supporters briefly interrupted Robredo’s mini-rally at the town of Villasis, Pangasinan.
It looked like the Robredo-Pangilinan tandem is attracting not just the Kakampink crowd, but also the supporters of their closest rivals, the Marcos-Duterte team-up. Yesterday, April 8, during Robredo’s mini-rally in the town of Villasis, a group of youth supporting the son of the former Philippine dictator, momentarily made a scene.
The Villasis mini-rally is just one of the stopovers that VP Robredo made, before her grand rally in the city of Dagupan, where more than 60,000 pink-clad supporters made a show of force in what many believed to be a Marcos bailiwick.
In Villasis, both VP Leni Robredo and Senator Kiko Pangilinan spoke in front of thousands of supporters.
During Senator Pangilinan’s time to give a speech, the group of BBM-Sara supporters suddenly chanted their presidential bet’s name at the back, which caught the attention of other attendees at the event.
Several Kakampinks also briefly engaged them, but members of the local PNP, made their presence felt to discourage both the Kakampinks and gatecrashing BBM supporters, from making a scene.
The brave, or should we say, reckless BBM supporters, also received commendations from the event’s hosts who called their attention after their heckling act.
“Palakpakan naman natin sila dahil nandito sila. Hindi katulad nung sinusuportahan nila laging absent. (Let’s give them a round of applause, because they’ve showed up here, unlike the one they support)” one of emcees jokingly said. Bongbong Marcos is a known absentee in presidential debates. The very act of his supporters of gatecrashing Robredo’s rally also came out as ironic to many, as Bongbong previously claimed that his team does not engage in negative campaigning.
Robredo’s visit to the province was graced by several local executives and prominent political figures in the province, including Pangasinan;s 4th District Representative, Christopher de Venecia, former House Speaker Jose de Venecia Jr., and former Representative Gina de Venecia.
