Janno Gibbs, singer-actor, hit back at a netizen on Instagram after being labeled as someone who clings to presidential aspirant Leni Robredo to grant the franchise of ABS-CBN or Kapamilya Network.
The confrontation started after Janno Gibbs posted on Instagram a familiar Kakampink quote card expressing his support for Robredo.
“Sa Gobyernong Tapat, Angat Buhay lahat. Sa Gobyernong Huwad, lahat tayo Tuwad,” he posted.
A netizen then commented and accused the actor, Gibbs of clinging to Robredo because he hopes for the renewal of the franchise of ABS-CBN. The netizen even urged that if online the said network paid its tax, it will not reach that point.
“SIGURADUHIN mo lang dahil kapag nagkataon paano naman kaming mahihirap kapit lang naman kayo dyan para maibalik ang ABS-CBN kung nagbabayad kasi sana ng buwis Hindi umabot dyan. Just comment lol oh Papatol yarn sabay delete,” the netizen commented.
“Banned ako sa ABS! ‘Di mo ba alam?” Gibbs responded.
Gibbs’ reply about being banned was an inference to a 2018 rant on ABS-CBN about not being included on the station ID. Since then, despite apologizing, Gibbs was not seen anymore in any of the Kapamilya Network shows.
On the other hand, the accusation lodged against ABS-CBN for not paying the necessary taxes got refuted in Congress hearings. Despite that, netizens still hit back on the Network about tax issues.
Gibbs went viral the past few days after posting a political satire video titled BTS: President Gibbs Headquarters.
Loyalists of Bongbong Marcos (LBM) were quick to react and criticize Gibbs regarding his content.
Gibbs explained that the video created to mock Robredo involving exorcism was incomparable to his content.
“Hindi mo ba na napanood ung gawa ng kampo niyo kay Leni? Ung sinasapian siya at nagwawala parang exorcist?! Anong tawag mo dun? Mabait pa ‘tong sakin,” Gibbs responded.
