Kakampinks react to NCPRO’s 80k estimate of mammoth Pasay rally crowd

However, organizers said at least 412,000 attended the rally.

Kakampinks didn’t believe the estimate given by the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) on the Pasay rally’s turnout on April 23.

The NCRPO said the event only drew 70,000 to 80,000 attendees but drone shots prove otherwise.

In a statement, it said, “the rally was attended first by groups of supporters coming from different areas displaying banners of support to Leni-Kiko tandem.

“As to its entirety, the Leni- Kiko grand campaign rally was generally peaceful. It was attended to by an estimated crowd of more or less 70,000 to 80,000 supporters and volunteers onboard of MOL (more or less) 300 cars 15 buses, 100 MCs (motorcycles) and 15 PUJs (public utility jeepneys),” the statement read.

“It was also noted that a great number of rallyist did not stay for the whole duration of the event but left after a while,” it added.

However, organizers said at least 412,000 attended the rally.

Before the statement, the NCRPO said the turnout was between 90,000 to 100,000.

“To sum up, these rallies conducted by the supporters of our presidential aspirants started and concluded peacefully. We greatly appreciate the cooperation of the attendees and the organizers which paved way to the successful peace and security operation during the event,” said NCRPO director Police Maj. Gen. Felipe Natividad.

Supporters of the Leni-Kiko tandem handed it to the NCRPO on twitter.
