There are no official numbers released yet, but an official from the Cebu PNP put that 300,000 have attended the event by 7:30 pm.
The official organizers of the Uniteam’s Festival Rally in Cebu, are yet to confirm that the well-attended rally held for the Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. and Sara Duterte tandem, has indeed attracted an estimated 300,000 crowd, on Monday night of April 18, 2022.
From the looks of the drone shots released on social media, however, it is hard to deny the crowd the BBM-Sara tandem was able to muster the numbers in the Queen City of the South, which is a mammoth by UniTeam standards.
The said star-studded saw what could be the biggest gathering, so far, of Filipino celebrities and recording stars, in a single BBM-Sara event. Hosted by the province’s prominent political party, one Cebu, and its figurehead, Governor Gwendolyn Garcia, who earlier endorsed the candidacy of the defeated 2016 vice-presidentiable, Bongbong Marcos as President and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, as Vice President.
Among the artists who performed at the event are viral sensations, Katrina Velarde, Bugoy Drilon, Daryl Ong, and Michael Pangilinan. Rap artists DJ Loonyo and John Roa, and Kapuso hunks and dancers, Rodjun Cruz and Mark Herras, also graced the event. Staple performers, Andrew E., Toni Gonzaga, and Bayani Agbayani also amde appearances, with Gonzaga and Agbayani reprising their hosting roles. Toni’s younger sister, Alex Gonzaga, made her first appearance ona BBM-Sara rally, for the first time.
On facebook, concurrent live viewers soared past 200,000. The hashtag #VivaBBMSara also found its way among the top trending topics on Twitter Philippines. During the event, presidential contender, Bongbong Marcos, once again underscored his call for “unity”.
An interview made by Sunstar Cebu, to Police Lieutenant Colonel Wilbert Parilla, who was Cebu PNP’s deputy city director for operation, revealed that 300,000 Cebuanos flocked to the event’s venue, Citi de Mare, Filinvest Grounds, South Road Properties, Cebu City, by 7:30 pm. That is the number of people who have come to the venue since the event started. Parilla also noted that the estimate for the number of people who were at the venue at the same time peaked at 120,000.
Again, an official statement is yet to be released by the UniTeam camp.
