Propagandists who back the presidential candidacy of former senator Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr have already started their mind conditioning strategies.
On Monday, April 11, several of them uploaded screenshots of supposed exit poll results for the first day of overseas voting in multiple countries which show the dictator’s son winning in a landslide.
City prosecutor Kim Indar was one of the first people who shared the figures, which many still believed is true.
Then came Jam Magno, who declared herself as “Queen of Facts.”

Former broadcaster Jay Sonzo also shared the supposed results in Hong Kong.
Another known UniTeam supporter followed as well.
COMELEC spokesperson James Jimenez said the results aren’t reliable “unless a known and reputable survey firm released the exit poll.”
An “exit poll” is not the official tally of votes cast in the 2022 National and Local Elections. Tandaan din na bibilangin lang ang mga boto ng Overseas Voting on May 9, AFTER the close of polls. #votesafepilipinas

Elections lawyer Emil Marañon explained that exit polls aren’t to be publicized as it is an election offense.
Sec. 5 of R.A. No. 9006 prohibits the announcement of the results of exit polls before the closing of the polls on May 9, 2022 as it promotes trending. Even if true, premature release of exit polls results is an ELECTION OFFENSE. Persons responsible may be arrested in flagrante. pic.twitter.com/FlkS2J4tdH

He also doesn’t think it is ‘smart’ for the Marcos camp to release a statement saying that the former senator was the “runaway winner with 85% of OFW votes in HK and 83% in Qatar” as the candidate lost to Vice President Leni Robredo in 2016 after an early celebration.
The Marcos camp should have learned from the 2016 elections that prematurely claiming victory has never done them good. Baka iyak na naman yan pag natapos ang botohan.

Marcos still leads all presidential surveys while Robredo remains in second place with her numbers are slowly improving.
