Comedian Eric Nicolas has now claimed that UniTeam doesn’t pay him a dime to perform during sorties after previously admitting that he does so.
Nicolas revealed that he performs without charging in a now-deleted Facebook post because the coalition helped Nicolas with hospital bills way before election season.
Before the long post, Nicolas refuted Elizabeth Oropesa’s claim that none of the artists performing for UniTeam are compensated.
“Ipapaputol ko ‘yung dalawa kong paa. Gagapang na lang ako kung binabayaran kaming mga artista kay BBM,” she said.
Nicolas then explained that he’d do anything for his family not to go hungry.
Mabuhay ang lahat.” he said.
After his credibility was questioned, Medwin Marfil of Filipino band True Faith clarified that artists do get paid to perform for UniTeam.
True Faith, on its part, declined numerous times when offered to do so.
Not believable.
Kahit na nag-declare na kami na #KakamPink ang #Truefaith we’re still being offered to play sa for Baby M.
When we were in Borongan, our manager got a call asking if we’d play for Unitik-tik. Pang 4 na ata na offer yun. We refused, of course.
May bayad powh. https://t.co/ISowVGl03i

The vocalist also said that the band was offered to perform for a certain candidate during the 2016 elections, but it declined that and supported the Mar-Robredo tandem.
