Alyssa Valdez chooses SEA games over ‘Pinoy Big Brother?’

During the PBB Day 197 episode aired on May 1, she emphasized that she also has other commitments, especially for the country.

Volleyball superstar and PBB kumunity: Season 10 celebrity housemate, Alyssa Valdez decided to give up her spot in preparation for the Southeast Asia (SEA) games in Vietnam giving the spot to Sam Bernardo.

Looking back, Valdez and Anjo Salvacion were the Top 2 of PBB’s celebrity edition in January 2022.

During the PBB Day 197 episode aired on May 1, she emphasized that she also has other commitments, especially for the country.

“Dito po sa labas ng inyong bahay, meron pong mga commitments na kailangan din po akong gampanan para po sa ating bansa. Magpi-prepare po ang national team para sa nalalapit na SEA Games,” she explained.

“Sa Vietnam po ito gaganapin and hindi ko rin po masasabi kung kailan po matatapos, kaya naman po hindi ko po magagampanan at hindi po ako makakabalik sa lob ng inyong bahay,” she added addressing Big Brother.

Pinoy Big Brother issued a statement accepting the decision of Valdez emphasizing the contribution of the volleyball game for the honor of the country.

“Malugod naming tinanggap ni Kuya ang pagpapaalam ni Alyssa, dahil isang malaking karangalan at hamon ang dadalhin ng volleyball team nina Alyssa para sa bansa,” it announced.

Valdez posted on twitter highlighting her best experiences inside the Pinoy Big Brother house shared with other housemates.

She added in a post how she treasured her experience of meeting friends inside the house and offered her gratitude to Big Brother or “Kuya” and Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) as a whole.

Miss Grand International 2020, 1st runner-up Samantha Bernardo, replaced Valdez since she is in the top 3 of the said season.

Bernardo was invited as co-host during an episode of PBB and had no idea that she was going to replace the volleyball player’s vacated pot.

She was asked by PBB hosts Bianca Gonzales, Enchong Dee, and Robi Domingo if she is willing to accept the challenge–to which she accepted.

“Knowing me, hindi ako sumusuko sa anumang pagsubok at hamon ng buhay. I am not a quitter and I will always say na okay lang sa akin na matalo as long as I fight ’til the end. So tinatanggap ko po ‘yon at isang malaking karangalan na ako ang kapalit ni sissy (Alyssa Valdez) at laban natin ito, sissy,” she said.

Bernardo and Salvacion, the top 2 housemates of the celebrity edition, will be joined by Nathan Juane and Isabel Laohoo of the adult edition, while the teen edition is currently ongoing.

On twitter, Valdez offered support to Samantha Bernardo.
