Old social media posts made by Atty. Trixie Cruz-Angeles resurfaced online after President-elect Ferdinand Marcos Jr named the lawyer-vlogger, as his press secretary.
Atty. Trixie Cruz-Angeles may be trending right now, but it is not solely because she is set to take head of the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO), but also because netizens have unearthed something from her past: her anti-Marcos stance.
But it appears she has already flipped sides. In an interview, she argued, “…people are entitled to changed their mind.”
A known Duterte Diehard Supporter (DDS), Cruz-Angeles joins defeated senatoriable and former presidential spokesperson, Harry Roque, a former Marcos critics, who are now loyal supporters of the Marcoses.
Online, Cruz-Angeles’s appointment earned the netizens’ ire. Screenshots of some of the incoming press secretary’s social media posts, which showed her criticizing former First lady, Imelda Marcos, made it on twitter, and instantly became a trending topic among netizens
Social media personality, Charot!, shared previous posts by Cruz-Angeles where she both pushed for Imelda Marcos’s imprisonment and accused Bongbong Marcos of benefiting from his family’s spoils, during their time in Malacañang. “Vlogger and suspended lawyer Trixie Cruz-Angeles has accepted her nomination as head of the Presidential Communications Operations Office, the office of president-in-waiting Bongbong Marcos said even she was anti Marcos before. Charot!” his post reads.

Cruz-Angeles have already deleted some of her old tweets but some netizens are prompt enough to archive them in screenshots.
“True justice is when we see at least Imelda in jail”, said the incoming PCOO chief in a tweet made in 2013. Imelda Marcos was convicted for 7 counts of graft in 2018.
In another post, Cruz-Angeles suggested that president-elect Marcos Jr uses the money his family stole from the public coffers, and thus must also be punished. “Not true that he did not have anything to do with the father. He uses ill-gotten wealth. That is complicitly after the fact” she said.
Cruz-Angeles was suspended from practicing law by the Supreme Court in 2016, for misappropriating her client’s funds. The ban was lifted in 2019.
