The onscreen couple’s 2015 TV series dethrones the Bea Alonzo-starrer, A Love to Last, as the longest-charting local TV series on Netflix Philippiines’s Top 10.
Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, a.k.a. KathNiel, proved once again that they are not local entertainment royalties, for nothing, by ruling Netflix Philippines’ Top 10 TV shows chart for 27 weeks straight. The couple achieved the feat via their top-rated 2015 TV series– Pangako Sa’yo, adapted from the 2000 TV series of the same title.
According to streaming and social media analytic tool Flix Patrol, Pangako Sa’yo has been consistently trending on and has been one of Netflix Philippnes’ Top 10 TV shows in the last 226 days or 27 weeks.
A Love To Last, the previous record-holder, stayed inside the Top 10 for 18 weeks.
Another KathNiel-starrer, however, posed a threat to Pangako Sa’yo. 2 Good 2 Be True, which premiered in May, is proving to be a record-breaker, too.
It did not only occupy the Top 1 spot for several weeks, it also has been on the local TV shows chart for six straight weeks. The charming series outlasted several Filipino titles that entered the chart (but are no longer charting), including GMA Network’s Legal Wives and TV5’s Niña Niño.
According to Flix Patrol, 2 Good 2 Be True held the top position for 30 days. It was the number one show from May 16 to May 24. It again did from June 6 to June 23. It currently ranks third, just behind new shows–The Umbrella Academy and Money Heist Korea: Joint Economic Area, which rank 1st and 2nd, respectively.
The two KathNiel-starrers also find good placements on the yearly Top 10 chart, with 2 Good 2 Be True and Pangako Sa’yo placing sixth and seventh, respectively.
These rankings are still poised to change as the the two shows move along the daily and weekly charts till the year ends.
