Rivera is currently being trailed by fellow actress Angel Locsin and internet star Niana Guerrero.
Meanwhile, Jane De Leon, who stars in “Mars Ravelo’s Darna: The TV Series,” also surpassed 7 million followers on Facebook after the series recently premiered on television.
Rivera also played ‘Darna’ from 2009 to 2010.
In an interview with Ogie Diaz, a teary-eyed De Leon detailed her hardships before being given the iconic role.
She said her family was doing fine until her father’s business partner screwed their arrangements, leaving him traumatized and unable to provide.
It came to the point where they’d eat salt with rice to deal with hunger.
“Wala talaga kaming makain. De Leon said.
The family resorted to poverty-specific manners to get by.
Her father even killed their neighbor’s chicken just so they could eat.
De Leon got her big break when she was in ABS-CBN’s ‘Hailk’ in 2018.
De Leon is also grateful to her bashers for giving her more attention.
