In a Facebook post, Raquel Pempengco, Jake Zyrus’ mother ( formerly Charice Pempengco), named a singer who she thinks can be the next Charice.
According to her ‘Tawag ng Tanghalan’ contestant, Mary Khem Cabagte might be the next big thing.
“This is it! May papalit na kay Charice”, says Raquel in the post’s caption.
She then added that no one is going to go far with arrogance.
“Kahit anong galing mo sa lahat kung wala kang ‘CONNECTION’ at ‘RIGHT DECISION’ wala din ang galing mo. Just a piece of advice sa lahat na nangangarap at nag-uumpisa pa lang, always put your feet on the ground no matter how expensive the shoes you’re wearing might be.”
“Yan ang sinabi ni OPRAH kay CHARICE noong nag-uumpisa pa lang siya. Pag inuna ang yabang? Sabihin ko na sa inyo wala kayong patutunguhan. Just keep it to yourself na kung alam mong magaling ka. Sa nakikita at obserbasyon ko, hindi pa sikat feeling sikat na. Dami kong nakita na ganyan na di nag-bloom ang career.”
“Basta pumili ng TAMANG TAO AT TAMANG CONNECTION, yun lang, real talk and advice lang po based on my past experiences”, she added.
Not many agreed with Raquel’s remark, saying that Charice is irreplaceable despite undergoing a sex change.
Formerly known as Charice, Zyrus has made her mark in the music industry. She has collaborated with Celine Dion and David Foster and she also played the character Sunshine Corazon on Glee.
Raquel previously appealed to her daughter to visit her family as she became more estranged from them.
