On Sunday, ABS-CBN hosted a thanksgiving party for its talents, and it took the opportunity to honor five performers for their decades-long commitment to Star Magic.
The event, called “Star Magical Christmas,” was held at the Sheraton Manila Hotel in Pasay City and featured both rising and established stars.
Five Star Magic veterans were honored for their 25-plus years of service to the Kapamilya talent management company at the event. The awardees included Angelica Panganiban, Shaina Magdayao, Dimples Romana, Nikki Valdez, and Dominic Ochoa.
Ochoa shared a photograph on her social media account that showed the five artists proudly displaying the awards that they received. She captioned the image, “25 years in the biz!“
Star Magic was established in 1992, and it is currently commemorating its 30th anniversary with year-long activities, including concerts both locally and internationally, and most recently, a gathering called “Magical” Christmas.
Angelica Panganiban started her career as a child actress who was nominated for many awards because of her roles in various movies. Her notable roles include Jenny in the drama film Separada (1993), for which she was nominated for two Best Child Actress awards at the FAMAS and PMPC Star Awards; and Becky in the family-drama film Sarah… Ang Munting Prinsesa (1995), co-starring Camille Prats. Her performance in the film Santa Santita earned her three Best Actress nominations at the FAMAS, FAP Luna, and ENPRESS Golden Screen Awards. In February 2011, Panganiban starred alongside Vhong Navarro in the horror comedy Bulong. Panganiban continued to wow audiences with her range as an actress. This is demonstrated by the fact that she was nominated for both Best Drama Actress and Best Comedy Actress at the 29th PMPC Star Awards for Television. This is for her work in Pangako Sa ‘Yo and Banana Split.

She later joined Kaybol and played Rina in the afternoon drama series Marinella on ABS-CBN. Magdayao’s first album, titled after her, was published by Star Records in 2000 when she was just 11 years old. Sayaw Sweet Lullabye was the title of the promotional single. She starred in Tanging Yaman by Laurice Guillen that same year. The Filipino Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences gave her the Best Child Actress award for her performance in the film. She joined the likes of Claudine Barretto, Diether Ocampo, Angelika de la Cruz, Bea Alonzo, and John Lloyd Cruz in the 2005 Philippine primetime drama series Ikaw ang Lahat sa Akin. She made her debut as a leading actress in the 2010 episode of the daytime serial opera Alyna. Magdayao was crowned queen of ABS-Kapamilya CBN’s franchise after the show was a critical hit. She is a regular on the Sunday afternoon ABS-CBN show ASAP.
After completing her education at Enderun College’s International Hospitality Management program with a major in the culinary arts, Dimples Romana made her television debut in 1997 on the soap opera Esperanza and by 1999 she was a regular on the hit ABS-CBN series Tabing Ilog. She became widely known in 2019 for her role as Daniella Mondragon-Bartolome in the daytime drama series Kadenang Ginto. An image from the film depicting Romana’s character, Daniela, striding flamboyantly while carrying a briefcase has become an online meme, with several fan-made images showing Daniela in exotic locations and alternate realities.
